Getting Started

Prerequisites

Is there anything you should learn before you come to the first lecture? Is it even a good idea to become an iOS engineer in 2022? Conveniently, Lukáš Smetana, an iOS engineer from STRV, recently wrote an article about his journey from QA to iOS department. There you can find bunch of links to resources that helped him with the transition, and also a section with contemplation about joining the community of developers for Apple platforms. Just a sneak peak, it makes sense to become an iOS developer in 2022 and you don’t have to study anything before the Academy but the more you know before, the more you will be able to focus just on connecting the dots instead of being overwhelmed with the new information so feel free to follow the links from the article.

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with Git
  • At least superficial prior experience with Swift; we recommend a little investment in the first 2 weeks of 100 days of Swift
  • Brief overview of iOS ecosystem, again you can check 100 days of Swift
  • Dedication, curiosity, a positive attitude… just someone here to learn and have fun!
