Data Act Workflow

The Data Act Workflow is the management and transfer of agency data through several interconnected systems leading to USASpending.gov.
- Agencies report their spending through the Data Broker application through DABS Submissions and FABS Submissions. The Data Broker enforces validations of the data via the GSDM to ensure the data is accurate. The validated submission data then gets stored in the Data Broker database available to be processed the following night.
- A pipeline runs every night, pulling the latest agency data from the Data Broker (along with other relevant external data) and processes it all in its own database. As the data gets processed, the website USASpending surfaces the new agency data for public consumption.
