Table shows how the PINs between the Roboracer Alpha™ and the components are wired up for Roboracer Alpha Mu™. Pins 4 to 9 are all set as outputs from the Roboracer Alpha™ Arduino UNO R3 board. Pin 10 set as input for the Roboracer Alpha™ board.

You can test the wiring of the Roboracer Alpha Mu by downloading the Roboracer Alpha Mu™ Firmware and uploading the Roboracer Alpha Mu™LeftWheelTest.ino.hex and Roboracer Alpha Mu™LeftWheelTest.ino.hex files onto the Arduino Roboracer Alpha. Download the Roboracer Alpha Mu™ Firmware as a zip file and extract its contents into a folder on your computer. Use xLoader to upload the required file to test the wheel movements.
- Connect your Roboracer Alpha to a available USB socket.
- Open xLoader
- Browse the HEX File from Roboracer Alpha Mu™ LeftWheelTest folder. The file is called:- RoboracerAlphaMu™LeftWheelTest.ino.hex
- Select the device E.g. In case of Arduino Uno, it's ATmega328
- Select COM Port
- Select right baud rate in case of Arduino Uno it's 115200
- Finally hit Upload Button
- Unplug Roboracer Alpha from your computer's USB socket.
- Insert batteries into the battery pack.
- The left wheel of Roboracer Alpha Mu now should move forward and then backwards. If it does not move forward but backwards, you will need to swap the positive and negative wires around on the L298N motor driver board.
