What steps will reproduce the problem?

In function Adapter::subscribe(), there is a hard coded value for timeout for sleep before next iteration.

What is the expected result?

Would expect the timeout to be configurable

What do you get instead?

Instead it is hard coded, fixed!

Additional info

Anyone have any ideas how we should implement this, a settings interface maybe???
