Dependencies & Supported Third Party Addons

The SDHI Service Module System parts pack derives some of its functionality from certain utilities plugins, while also providing support for others. Ensure that you have the latest version of all dependencies before installing and using this pack.

Dependencies

These add-ons are mandatory - without them, many parts will not work properly.

• AnimatedDecouplers plugin (Starwaster) - Info / Download (32-bit, 64-bit)
  Required for the Service Module and Avionics Ring umbilicals that animate when the Command Pod is decoupled

• Firespitter plugin (Snjo) - Info / Download
  Required for IACBM docking port guidance fin and Pod Boost Protective Cover crew hatch animations

• Klockheed Martian Special Parts plugin (dtobi) - Info / KM Main Utilities Library Plugin Download + KM Special Plugin Download
  Required for the Heat Shield's self-inflating floatation collar

  • NOTE: Due to the unusual way dtobi is packaging / distributing his plugins, you must download both in order for the floatation collar feature to work; you can just keep the plugins and safely delete his parts / sounds, as SDHI provides its own local copies of the inflation / deflation audio files

• ModuleManager plugin (sarbian) - Info & Download
  Required for applying patches that modify stock parts to make them work with the Service Module pack

• RealChute plugin (stupid_chris) - Info & Download
  Required for the docking ports to properly deploy the sequenced drogue-mains parachute system

Supported Third Party Add-ons

These add-ons are highly recommended but otherwise optional - if they are installed along with this parts pack, certain additional features may become available.

• Deadly Reentry Continued plugin (NathanKell) - Info / Download
  If installed, the SDHI Heat Shield will protect the Mk1-2 Pod from the heat and stresses of atmospheric reentry; most other Service Module components will also consistently be burned up when deorbited

• Ferram Aerospace Research plugin (ferram4) - Info / Download
  If installed, the Boost Protective Cover and Service Module Fairings will properly shield other components from aerodynamic stresses experienced during launch, reducing drag and making your rockets more efficient at getting into orbit
  

  • NOTE: When first installing FAR and/or SDHI, you must delete CustomFARPartClassification.cfg from your _GameData\FerramAerospaceResearch_ folder in order for FAR to properly rebuild its part classification definitions to include the SDHI parts)

• HotRockets! plugin (Nazari1382) - Info & Download
  If installed, the LV-909 variant included in the Service Module pack will display improved particle effects in its exhaust

• Ship Manifest plugin (Papa_Joe) - Info / Download and Connected Living Spaces API plugin (codepoet) - Info / Download
  If installed, crew can be transferred between vessels that use the parachute-equipped docking ports included in the Service Module pack
