Revert "fix(release): fix py env issue in ci-checkov (#1224)" (#1225)

This reverts commit 9a94098.

Even though the commit _does_ fix the issue it's not a long term fix for
few reasons:
- The reported failure happened on a branch without backported changes
from main, hence the failure
- This change was also not backported to said branch so the issue would
still happen

We need to backport 14a5138 which
should fix the checkov issue
