Is there a way to use a file URL as template?

Currently, I am using a template available in the local directory but we have a use case to use the template from the URL. For now, I am downloading the template and then using it. Can I simply use the template download URL?

You can supply a buffer instead of a file. You'll need to fetch the file into a buffer yourself however.
