Feature Request: Add Protein-to-Genome Search (tblastn-like functionality)

First, thank you so much for building and maintaining this incredibly useful tool—it’s been a game-changer for my workflow! 🙌

I’d like to kindly suggest a feature for future consideration: Would it be possible to add support for ​protein-to-genome searches, similar to tblastn? This functionality would allow users to query protein sequences against nucleotide genomes (with six-frame translation), which is crucial for tasks like gene annotation, identifying homologous genes in novel genomes, or studying evolutionary biology.

If implementing a full tblastn-style search is complex, could you advise on workarounds (e.g., preprocessing genomes with blastxor other tools)? I’d be happy to help test prototypes or provide use-case details!

Good suggestion, but the current index and algorithm are hard (nearly impossible) to extend for a tblastx-like function.
