Remove "Access data for all websites" from addon, else you addon will never become very popular

Hi i like your addon a lot, but i don't trust you with all of my browser data, and i believe that's one reason why only 54 people installed it on firefox. I also use the 1.0.180 version in vs code (windows) because all new versions don't work

The vscode extension runs a websocket server to which your browser connects. Although it runs in localhost, Firefox for whatever reason won't connect to it without <all_urls> permission... We modify the original manifest specifically for firefox to target such quirks here.

Maybe we should add such explanation to the description in Firefox Addons page.

Regarding old version of the vscode extension you use, try installing the newest version and completely closing vscode so that the old websocket server is killed.

You can always install the Connector in another browser like FF nightly or any other chromium based.

Hi Robert, thank you for your nice answer. I know you've put a lot of work into this, its quite a job. But as long as the FF addon demands access for all data i won't use it. I just need the copy code function in vs code, the automatic insertion is a nice extra, but it takes little time to do myself. Perhaps you could make one separate addon in FF for Gemini only, because that's what many people use anyways.
Updating and restarting VS Code did not help (Activating extension 'robertpiosik.gemini-coder' failed: t.workspace.getConfiguration(...).get(...).map is not a function.

Perhaps you could make one separate addon in FF for Gemini only, because that's what many people use anyways.

I mean, making any separate extension won't help as the ability of connecting to the websocket server created by the vscode ext. is necessary for bi-directional communication to work (automatic chat initializations or sharing websites for context).

@julius-gun you must have some setting override that is incompatible in type. Please open your settings.json and check if there are some settings overrides for geminiCoder, remove them or fix. Let me know if it helps!
