Comdirect compatibility

After updating sepaxml from version 2.5.0, comdirect payments stopped working:

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '.../sepaxml/schemas/pain.001.003.03.xsd'

The first broken commit is e0edaa0 Remove end-of-life formats sa per https://www.ebics.de/de/datenformate/format-lifecycle

I don't know anything about the backend side of this, or who chooses the PAIN version, so it's possible I'm calling the payment wrong.

Is this a user error, or is comdirect requiring outdated standards?

I checked what comdirect uses by debugging python-fints where it deals with hispas.parameter.supported_sepa_formats

It turns out that trying to ignore the warning and using a different standard just fails the transaction.
Comdirect really needs the end-of-life one.
