Description

I propose to create a Hebrew localized version of the entire Open Mainframe Project COBOL Programming Course.

This localization effort would involve:

  • Translation of all markdown files, explanatory text, and documentation from English into high-quality, professional Hebrew.

  • Verification of code snippets and technical terminology to ensure consistency and correctness within the Hebrew context.

  • Establishment of a process for maintaining the Hebrew translation, including updates to reflect changes in the original English course.

I would like to be assigned as the primary translator and contributor for this project. As a professional COBOL engineer based in Israel, I have the necessary technical expertise, native fluency in Hebrew, and a strong interest in contributing to open-source initiatives through the Maakaf community.

Problems

It is related to an accessibility and reach problem.

Additional Context

I am Uriel Ofir, a COBOL Software Engineer at Mizrahi Bank. I am also the founder and manager of the Maakaf open-source community. This role demonstrates my commitment to open-source contributions and community building.

I have the necessary domain expertise (COBOL, Mainframe) and language proficiency (Native Hebrew speaker) to ensure a high-quality, technically accurate translation. I am ready to start immediately upon approval and assignment.
