Would someone be willing to provide context on what is going on with releases in general with this project?

I see on Maven, that there have been releases as recent as last month

However, the gradle plugin portal shows no releases since mid-year 2023.

I gave the gradle publishing guide a read and it seems pretty self-explanatory. I'd be happy to run the publishing step every time someone does the work to merge new fixes or features, if that would be helpful

Also, it seems the plugin would need some attention to make it gradle-9.x.x compatible. This would include raising the minimum java version to 17. Are there plans for this in the near future?

Latest available release 0.1.0 is now more than two years old.

This plugin, part of the openjfx organisation, is very useful and, combined with org.beryx.jlink, produces sweet Java FX binaries. With no releases in two years, depending on it to build production applications is concerning.

Surely people, including me, would be willing to contribute to help keep up with Gradle changes. With no releases in two years, this is not encouraging.

Who would be able to move this forward?
