Hi, I'm planning submitting this patch to OpenJDK upstream, since there were multiple discussions ([1], [2]) floating around and this hasn't been resolved for a long time.

Did you write this patch yourself? If yes, could you sign Oracle's contributor agreement, so your code could be submitted?

Sorry for my late answer, and yes I did write this patch myself. But yeah totally, I can do that in the next few days.
