Questions about replaying revisions after already migrated some workitems.

Hello,

When migrating workitems, to save the processing time, I've set the MaxRevisions to the lowest possible number.
Now the comments from previous revisions are missing, so I tried to up the 'MaxRevisions' setting to 30 and set the FilterWorkItemsThatAlreadyExistInTarget to false to add revisions based on the max revisions i've set previously.

But now it doesn't replay the revisions for the workitems that contain the ones before the last revision (21) where the comments are set.

Only when I add a new comment and run the tool again, that revisions (22) with the comment is moved to the migrated workitem.
Is this expected behavior? Is there an option to replay all revisions for workitems?

Comments are revisions. If you limit the revisions, you also limit the comments.

Thank you for your response. I'm aware that limiting the revisions also limits the comments. My apologies if my question was not phrased correctly. I'll try my best to rephrase it.

I've migrated workitems from OrgA/ProjectA to OrgB/ProjectA with a revision limit of 1.
Then I've come to the conclusion that my comments are missing and that this is caused by setting the limit to 1.
I will then up the limit to 100 and I know for sure that the comments are within that limit because some workitems have only 20 revisions.

I rerun the same workitem migration configuration from OrgA/ProjectA to OrgB/ProjectA but now with "FilterWorkItemsThatAlreadyExistInTarget" set to "false"
"ReplayRevisions" set to "true"

What I expected is that it would replay all revisions for that work item again. But it seems that this is not the case.
I get the message "Skipping as work item exists and no revisions to sync detected"

Is this expected behavior?
Is it because the last revision from the source work item is now the first revision in the target work items, and therefore that it's not possible to replay any earlier revisions?

AHH, I see your ask now.

All revisions must be added consecutively for a work item. It's not possible to go back and add revisions in the past that you skipped.

You must delete the work item and then migrate it again with the revisions.
