Thanks for the issue. The choice to use .config was deliberate, to avoid proliferation of checked-in config directories (similar motivation to XDG_CONFIG_HOME on Unixes). I consider top-level .cargo and .github to be mistakes — all checked-in config should live inside .config. I picked this idea up from a blog post that I can't find any more — credit to its author who I wish I could remember. |

.configisn't clear that this is the nextest config folder when looking at top level file structure.Proposal
It would be much more intuitive if this directory were called
.nextest, which would be in line with.github/.cargo/.git.Alternatives
