Restoring from backup

Is there any documented way to restore from a backup done with this project?

No, nothing documented.

I also didn't see anything about restore, I don't think it has this functionality.

GitProtect.io has this feature but it is paid for more than 15 repositories.

Yeah I originally wrote this as literally a backup utility with no thought in mind for restoring. I suppose its possible to restore most things, but nothing for that use case is covered here. Pull requests welcome!

could you please describe in your initial README on

what the basic usage idea of python-github-backup is
to have interested users informed from the very beginning.

I failed to imagine how the restore is meant to work
from "clones for wikis, json files for issues"
so I searched some time until I found this issue
which explains it.

The name of the repo is python-github-backup, not python-github-backup-and-restore.

That said, be the change you wish to see in the world. Either make the PR adding that info or implement the functionality.
