xjc generates no JAXBElement for nillable element with required attribute

I would to know if the issue -> #858 was resolved fully.

I am currently using jaxb2-maven plugin of version 2.4, I am still facing this issue where in a nillable XML element is returned as NULL value in Java after unmarshalling.

Kindly help me out on how to fix this
