An error occurred while installing .NET: .NET Acquisition Failed: Action: vscdGlLk-edf87f58-4280-40b0-b606-1d417497a8b4 Failed to acquire lock \.\pipe\vscd-vscdGlLk-sock after 12001 retries out of 12001 total available attempts.
The lock may be held by another process or instance of vscode. Try restarting your machine, deleting the lock, and or increasing the timeout time in the extension settings.

Increase your OS path length limit to at least 256 characters.
On Linux, you can set XDG_RUNTIME_DIR to be a writeable directory by your user.

If you still face issues, set VSCODE_DOTNET_RUNTIME_DISABLE_MUTEX=true in the environment.

Questions:

1. Did you have multiple vs code windows open?
2. Do you have a restricted file system?
3. May you provide your logs by going to ctrl + shift + p, open extensions log folder, and attach the logs folder as a zip? Remove any personal data such as your username. that'd be something like: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Code\logs on windows for example
