I have created a much simpler integration in the meantime (loads Decap CMS 3.0.3 from <script> instead of npm packages) that also provides custom OAuth routes via SSR to be able to use the github backend without the need to deploy another service or vendor-lock to Netlify.

Feel free to use it if you want to keep the integration lightweight and pretty straight-forward to set up with GitHub OAuth. astro-decap-cms-oauth
