Paperless-ngx Updating from 2.19.4 → 2.19.5 deletes trashfolder and update fails

Iam trying to update paperless-ngx from 2.19.4 to 2.19.5.
Before the update starts, the trashfolder under /opt/paperless/ is still present.
While updating, the folder gets removed an the update fails at the end with

?: PAPERLESS_EMPTY_TRASH_DIR is set but doesn't exist.
        HINT: Create a directory at /opt/paperless/trash

I also checked the Paperless Git rep. The maintainer there told me that "Whatever is generating this is not our script.
Paperless does not remove directories; there is nothing here that would do that.". So i assume, that error will be generated from the update-script.

Trash is Trash, why should we Backup this? Yesterday, another user complained that the folder was still there after the update.

By the way, the maintainers of paperless are extremely unhelpful. No matter which of our contributors asked a question there, they were immediately rebuffed in a rude manner.

My Suggestion is, Change your conf and Switch the Trash in /opt/paperless_trash
Its the better way, because its a little Bit stupid that the Trash is inside an Node/Python tool which completly rewrite at every update
