• looking at http://www.html5rocks.com/en/features/storage
  • off the bat, don't think web storage or indexed db would exactly do what I'm interested in
  • I want to be able to query like for a given question, is its favorite status set to true or false
  • I guess the question could be the key but some questions are really long with nested items or html tags so I don't want to deal with potential related issues
  • I would want a simple id for a question; maybe this would need to go into my js array
  • [{category: 'gen question', ['qid1', 'qid2', ...], ['question_text1', 'question_text2'], [true, false]}] ... the questions are currently stored as a node list so maybe id's and isFavorite values need to be stored in arrays as well? it is looking more like a database but I don't really want to implement authentication for this application right now. maybe down the road as a mean proj

• I think this is an important feature b/c I feel a lot of people may use it but it is non trivial because it involves data storage and impacts the data model (and every layer like controller and view and changed routing workflow)
• need to flesh out what the user workflow would look like

  • key: categName+questionNum (seems you should number questions by category because what if you numbered the questions outright and later some questions are added, then the existing numbering scheme will be obsolete; but this is still dependent on the assumption that the current list of questions will not be reordered, only new questions will be appended)

• deciding to table this feature. rationale is that while I believe this is a useful feature, it would really require use of a database to manage things like:
  • what happens when the source list of questions changes
  • what happens if a favorite question gets dropped from the source list of questions
