Total count in date group and other Automatic Groups missing

follow up from #14169

1. Open Chocolate.bib
2. Add date group - group by date. Name it "Date"
3. see
   

Expected: "Date" shows sum of all entry counts below. As is: 0 is shown.

This seems to be a general issue with Automatic Groups, not limited to date groups. Same applies to Keyword based groups, e.g. by author last name
the hit counter must be adapted to show the sum of all children hits counts for atuomatic grouüs

This issue is mainly depends on Hierarchical context. Currently on my local fix branch it works with UNIION context, but i need to know, how it should work with other contexts, or automatic groups must always be created with union context by default?
