Can you make esc map to clearing selection and quitting the current action?

When working with other software I am used to spamming Esc to clear state. For example when I want to clear selection. This is a very useful feature and would be a great addition to cadoodle.

Esc is mapped to clearing the tool action, so if you had clicked on an object and wanted to not have it attached to the mouse, then esc clears that. I will have to look at the state to see when i can safely clear the selection, and when the users intent was to clear the tool...
