Restricted API issue

Some of the extractor classes are getting this error- 

`MenuItemImpl.getItemId can only be called from within the same library group prefix (referenced groupId='androidx.appcompat' with prefix androidx from groupId='rootProjectName')`

Can you suggest an alternative to using this?
