Firmware update

  1. You'll need the STM32 Cube Programmer
  2. Connect your device to your PC and prepare the firmware file
  3. In your device menu, select Reboot DFU and confirm. On success, the display will show the text DFU Mode
  4. Start STM32 Cube Programmer

  1. On the right, switch from ST-Link to USB. If your Port says No DFU detected your device is not in DFU mode.

  1. Click Connect to connect to the controller inside the device

  1. Switch to the Erasing & Programming tab

  1. Now select the firmware file, which should have the extension .elf. If you want to delete all settings as well, check Full chip erase

  1. To download the firmware, click Start Programming
  2. After verification is done, unplug and replug your device. It will start with the normal ArtNET-boot logo if everything went well.

If you messed up the firmware upgrade and nothing happens when you plug the device in, you'll have to manually enter DFU mode again. To do so, open the front plate with the USB-port, carefully get the main PCB out and locate the jumper that says BOOT. Now put that jumper from to DFU. Unplug and replug the device. It will now permanently be in DFU-mode. After your update, put that jumper back on , reassemble the device and power cycle.
