There is an error in the module settings commit

My website has more than 1900 users, when I submit the settings, I see that the URL contains the usernames of more than 1900 users, which results in an error that the submission is not successful:

Given the size of your user base, saving the configuration may not be the only issue. As I mentioned in #5, Webtrees is not designed to handle long-running tasks efficiently. So even if the saving process worked, the mailing feature would likely fail during execution. For now, I recommend reducing your mailing list to a few dozen users.

That said, I agree that the current mailing list settings could be improved. As I noted in #27, I would eventually like to allow users to customize their own mailing preferences.

I will still attempt to resolve the issue with saving your settings, but I don’t expect batch sending to work reliably.

Thank you very much for your reply. My suggestion is as follows:
By default, provide a radio button to choose whether to send the notification to all users or to specific users. If you select specific users in the configuration, then allow the user to enter a list of users to send the notification to (or you can filter by users who haven't logged in in the past six months). This way, you won't submit so many users when saving the notification.
Actually, I'd like to modify your code slightly. Instead of sending an email notification, when it's a user's birthday, send an SMS or WeChat message to their phone wishing them a happy birthday.

With commit 0f3fc14, I updated the save endpoint to use a POST request instead of a GET request.
This change allows for significantly larger payloads than before, which should resolve the issue you encountered, at least until the refactor I mentioned is implemented.
That said, I still expect issues with batch sendings.
Let me know if the endpoint update resolves the issue for you.

Regarding your idea of sending automated birthday wishes, I personally prefer notifying users so they can write their own messages. It feels more personal and meaningful.
However, I’m open to exploring other ways to send messages, such as adding Webhooks support.
